Date Change
Greetings Trail Runners,
The recent storms and rainfall have affected our local trails. The Erwin Park trails have remained closed, and we have additional thunderstorms forecasted today and tomorrow. While we recognize it is never an ideal situation to postpone a race, we want to respect our trail systems and have the best experience for our runners.
With the help of DORBA and the City of McKinney, we’ve identified a new date of June 10, 2023. We’ve looked at the local trail race calendar and have tried our best to find a date that minimizes overlap with existing events in the area and works for the production crew.
We hope that you will be able to join us at the future date for Ed’s Trail to Recovery! No action is required by you if you want to stay registered for the new date, we will automatically roll you over to the new date.
If you are unable to attend, you have other options:
1) You are welcome to donate your entry fee
2) You may cancel your registration and receive a refund less any incurred costs
Also if you’ve got restless energy to get back on the trails, we suggest volunteering for trail work days as every trail in the area will be tackling the same challenges. Your help can get us back online sooner! Trailwork days at Erwin Park MTB are the second Saturday of every month.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you on the trails!
Best Regards,
NTTR

Ed’s Trail to Recovery fundraiser run is for our beloved friend Ed Steinkamp.
In April 2022, Ed left for a lifetime opportunity to hike with his son Bret in Victoria, Canada. What started as a beautiful experience with stunning views turned suddenly tragic when Ed had a freak accident that forever changed his life…

Since the accident, Ed’s recovery has involved multiple hospital visits, surgeries, and ongoing treatment. All proceeds from the event will help in Ed’s recovery.

The mission of the North Texas Trail Runners is the promotion and encouragement of long distance trail running and the education of the public to its benefits. NTTR is about fun, fellowship, and supporting each other!
NTTR is very active in the local trail running community. We continue to hold monthly membership “trail rodeos” as well as supporting local trail maintenance. We have amazing volunteers that help with local races. We’ve donated to each the following local, trail-run supporting organizations: Back on My Feet Dallas, Friends of the Grasslands, GallantFew and Town North Optimist Foundation.
The organizational meeting of North Texas Trail Runners was held at the Irving, Texas home of Fred Holmes, club organizer and first president, on April 18, 1996. On the agenda was planning of the inaugural Rockledge Rumble 50k.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve the Frisco Trail Race. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
